An introduction to ESCC

We learn by sharing and competing in a supportive social group.

Visitors are always welcome at our meetings. We would love to see you, so come along, introduce yourself, and check us out. While browsing here on the website look at the Galleries where you can see examples of members’ photography, then check the Calendar to see the diversity of our activities.

Established in 1958, the Eastern Suburbs Camera Club is one of Adelaide’s most respected camera clubs catering for novices through to passionate amateurs. Members have varying levels of achievement in photography including at least eight who are on the SAPF accredited judging list.

Above all we believe that photography is a hobby best enjoyed in the genial company of those who share their common interests. We promote that with a variety of social events. Principal among those is our week-end away when we spend an affordable long weekend in a photogenic location. We also have photo shoots in the Adelaide area usually linked with a lunch. Our premier event is the annual exhibition held in December each year.

We meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays at Payneham RSL Hall, 360 Payneham Road, Payneham, at 7.30pm for an 8pm start (Location map is on our Membership page). We are fortunate to have the Payneham RSL Hall as our home. Our landlord and the facilities provided are excellent not the least because of the free coffee and tea provided after our meetings - and there is a bar!
